Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:12-1, 5, notice is hereby given that the Clinton Township Board of Education is accepting recommendations for qualified candidates to fill a vacancy on the Board of Education.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:

To become a member of a local board of education in New Jersey you must:

• Be able to read and write

• Hold U.S. citizenship and one year’s residency in the school district

• Have no interest in any contract with, or claim against, the board

• Not hold office as mayor or member of the municipal governing body

• Be registered to vote and not be disqualified as a voter under N.J.S.A. 19:4-1

Interested parties must contact the Board Secretary at (908) 236-7235 x215 not later than January 15, 2009.

Candidates for the vacancy will be interviewed at the January 26, 2009 Meeting of the Board of Education, in the Library of the Clinton Township Middle School beginning at 7:30 PM.
